Veteran reporter to focus on investigate reporting
KINGSTON, R.I. — Oct. 4, 2002 — Channel 12 reporter Jack White will discuss investigative reporting at the University of Rhode Island’s Forensic Science Partnership Seminar Series on Thursday, Oct. 10.
White’s talk will be held on the Kingston Campus, Pastore Hall, Room 124 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The program is free and open to the public. This is the first time in the four years of the series that a member of the news media will be addressing the seminar series.
White, a reporter for more than 30 years, will emphasize the multiple sources on which reporters rely, including work done in crime labs.
White won a Pulitzer Prize in 1974 while working for The Providence Journal. In addition to the Journal and Channel 12, white has worked at The Newport Daily News and WBZ-TV in Boston.
He has been at WPRI Channel 12/Fox 64 since 1985 where he also hosts the weekly public affairs program Newsmakers, which airs on WPRI and Fox 64.
