Central Falls High School teachers, students, parents and leaders to celebrate their new academy

NEWS ADVISORY

WHO: The Central Falls High School: A University of Rhode Island Academy students, teachers, leaders, and parents will join with University President Robert L. Carothers and other faculty and staff to commence the new school year and the new partnership in place.

WHAT: At the end of the first week of classes, about 1,000 Central Falls High School students will don their new high school t-shirts and gather outside to spell-out their new school spirit. They will be joined by all of the other members of the high school community. This event is to symbolize the unity of the school with the University and the community.


The students will arrange themselves to spell out “CFHS : URI”


President Carothers, Central Falls High School Principal Mario Andrade, Supt. Frances Gallo, and high school student leaders will be available for comment.

WHEN: Friday, September 7, 2007, 1 – 2:30 PM

1 PM — Parents have been invited to the school to learn about the new expectations and changes taking place.

2 PM — Students will assemble outside at the Summer St. entrance
