Kingston, R.I. – February 2, 2011 – To students, faculty and staff, the University of Rhode Island apologizes for the difficult conditions and inconvenience this morning. We are canceling classes on all campuses starting at noon today due continued deterioration of the walkways on campus and the possibility of flooding in surrounding areas later today.

The University’s Facilities Services continue treating the walkways and parking lots around campus.

Please pay attention to the University’s website and check 874-SNOW for any additional storm notices and for information regarding classes tomorrow.

Other cancelations

The URI Employee Health Fair originally scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 2 has been postponed until Monday, Feb. 7 in the Memorial Union Atriums.

The Multicultural Center and Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies has postponed its Martin Luther King, Jr. Week events scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 1 and Wednesday, Feb. 2. Here is the update schedule for events on those dates:
