2010 Piano Extravaganza! Festival, April 9, 10, 11

The 2010 Piano Extravaganza! Festival embraces two concerts and a competition for young pianists, beginning on Friday, April 9 and running through Sunday, April 11.


The 8 p.m. Friday concert is free, and will feature a sophisticated program performed by undergraduate and graduate students in the URI piano programs.


The Saturday concert is at 7 p.m., and will showcase URI Music Department faculty artists and accompanists with special guest Audrey Kaiser from the Community College of Rhode Island. Admission is $8.00 general, $2.00 students. This concert starts an hour earlier to accommodate those participating in the Competition for Young Pianists on Sunday.


The competition, which features piano students in three age categories performing before judges, runs 1 p.m. -5 p.m., with free admission.
