10th annual golf tournament to be held Sept. 22 in memory of URI student

KINGSTON, R.I. – August 26, 2013 – The Sandi “McGee” Igliozzi Memorial Fund, Inc., will hold its 10th Annual Sandi “McGee” Igliozzi Memorial Golf Tournament Sept. 22 at the Crystal Lake Golf Club in Mapleville, R.I. The registration deadline is Aug. 31. Check-in begins at 6:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m.


The Sandi “McGee” Igliozzi Memorial Fund, Inc., was established in 2003 in memory of Sandi Igliozzi, a Coventry resident and University of Rhode Island student, who died in a car accident in 2002. Igliozzi was known for her love of children, and was pursuing a teaching degree at URI. Since its establishment, the fund has awarded more than 20 college scholarships to local high school students.


The cost for the event is $110 per player. The price includes green fees, a golf cart, participation in a hole-in-one contest and a putting contest, a welcome package, a continental breakfast, and a prime rib dinner. Guests may attend dinner for $30 per person; there is no charge for children to attend.


In addition, there are two sponsorship opportunities:


• Tee, $100, includes a tee sign

• Gold, $600, includes foursome player fees, a tee sign, and one dozen golf balls
