URI Day at Statehouse to mark University’s 125th anniversary

WHO: Gina Raimondo, governor; Nicholas Mattiello, speaker of the Rhode Island House of Representatives; M. Teresa Paiva Weed, president of the Rhode Island Senate; David M. Dooley, president of the University of Rhode Island; faculty, students and staff.

WHAT: URI Day at the Statehouse. The program will showcase all of the University’s academic colleges, outreach programs, athletics and Student Affairs. A URI jazz ensemble will perform throughout the program, and URI faculty, staff and students from URI’s Academic Health Collaborative will offer free health screenings.

WHEN: Wednesday, March 1, 2017, 3 to 5 p.m., with speaking program to begin at 3:30.

WHERE: Statehouse, second floor.
