URI students, leaders to highlight University’s statewide impact at URI Day at the State House

Event set for March 21 beginning at 2:30 p.m.

KINGSTON, R.I. – March 20, 2024 – Members of the Rhode Island General Assembly and elected executive officials will learn firsthand about the University of Rhode Island’s statewide contributions Thursday, March 21, during URI Day at the State House.

Through interactive exhibits and the participation of URI students, researchers, faculty and staff, attendees will learn about the impact of the state’s flagship public research university in helping to improve the lives of all Rhode Islanders.

Among the areas on display will be URI’s strong foundation for leading research and education in the biomedical sciences, including neuroscience, and the support that lends to the state’s life sciences priority.

WHO: Rhode Island elected officials, URI Board of Trustees Vice Chair Armand Sabitoni, URI President Marc Parlange, and URI faculty, staff and students

WHAT: URI Day at the State House

WHEN: Thursday, March 21, 2:30 to 4 p.m. Speaking program expected at 3:15 p.m.
